Sports Camp: Final- Volleyball

As our team walked onto the court, my heart was beating loudly. Minutes later, we started our game. The ball came flying my way and I hit the ball over the net. I looked at everyone’s face and their mouth was so long it touched their ears. Minutes later we lost the first set and everyone's face dropped.

As we were playing the second set my heart started beating loudly again but faster. I thought that we were going to lose but we

Won the round. My face flew up.

As we were playing the third set most of us were trying our hardest but we kept on hitting it out. The other team hit it out alot of times which gave us some points. It was so tough but we won.

As the ref called us to be the winner everyone ran up to us with joy and jumped on us. We did our cheer and everyone went around thanking them for the game. It was so much fun.

Round Robin Writing.

Reflections on Round Robin Writing:

In my group, it was lakai and me. We wrote a story about roosters and man named Jeff. I thought it was a very good idea because it was so much fun. It was fun because everyone’s ideas was combined with ours . I enjoyed this writing so much. I think that we should do this again because everyone learns more and also they get more ideas to use in their writing.

The Hurricane.

The Hurricane.

The wind howled menacingly like a wolf at the full moon. Lightning licked across the evil sky: a serpent’s tongue tormenting the clouds. The Earth began to shatter.

As we hopped into the police car, we rushed to go and close the roads before more accidents happen. As we stood near the News Reporter a lot of trees fell. Minutes I heard a loud noise. The type of noise when hot water is poured on top of ice cubes.

After one hour a building collapsed and fell on a lot of cars that were outside. A Lot of people got injured and some died. I quickly rushed and helped others get out of there car. The wind blew us back. Bang Bang! Lightning stroke the tree and fell on one of the policeman. Everyone was terrified.

As I ran to help the others and rush of wind flew past me. I tried my hardest to lift the big branch up and I couldn’t because it was to heavy.

I then went and got machete and tried to chop the branch but it took for ages. I didn’t have that much power to keep chopping it.

I then decided to run to the other side of the building and run for some help. When I got help I told them to help me lift the tree to get the police officer out but, a big wave an size of a building came our we tried our best to take him out and get him to a high building. Luckily we got on top and survived.

I have accelerated in Maths because I have been more focused during class lessons and also because I play lots of activities to practise. I also have accelerated because I now understand more about decimals, Percentages and fractions. By the end of the year I would like to achieve more by getting a 5B or 5P. To get a 5B or 5P I will Keep focusing during maths lessons and also by playing more math activities.

I have accelerated in Reading because I have done more independent reading and because I have better understanding for Making greater connections and also by knowing the author's purpose. By the end of the year I would like to achieve more by getting a 5B or 5P. To get an 5B or a 5B I would focus more while independent reading.

I have not accelerated in writing because I struggle with explanation writing. I also haven't accelerated in writing because I don't proofread my writing to make sure it makes sense. By the end of the year I want to achieve more by getting an 4B or 4P. To get a 4B or an 4P I need to focus during writing lessons. In writing I need to make sure I  use more precise verbs and words.

In maths I think I have done good because i’m on my way to getting an 4P and 4A. In Reading I think I did well because i’m also on my way to getting a 4A and an 5B. In writing I think I did bad because I will below.

Investigating Jerry

(Investigating Jerry)

“Mhmmmm something smells nice” Jerry said as he woke. He ran down stairs with excitement. As soon as he got down stairs, he ate the food that was made for him on the table. A couple of minutes later his mum went out to town.

The moment he got up from the table, he heard loud banging on his front door. He quickly ran to the door as fast as he could. As he opened the door slowly, he saw his mail thrown on the steps. He opened his mail and it said that he had to go to the police station for some questioning. Jerry packed his things and drove his mum to a family relatives house and went to the beach in town to think about what he did. After that he decided to stand in line to buy ice cream. Minutes later the investigator saw him and took him into the police station.

As soon as they arrived at the police station Jerry was taken to the room to be questioned. Minutes later the investigator asked him questions about where he was at that time and what he was doing, it made Jerry very nervous. The investigator made him even nervous by telling him he could go jail if he doesn’t speak up. Jerry didn’t say anything until the investigator was about to walk out.

Puns.

Yesterday we did puns. Puns are a play of words. The first example of a pun that we did was brainwashing. Everyone made a pun and my one was " I like being a browser for the free cookies". I really enjoyed doing these puns.

Maori.

Today Lakai and I didn't have the chance to participate in the maori lesson with Ms. Maude because we did writing with Mrs. Thompson. We missed out on all the singing but it was still fun doing writing. I hope next week we would get the chance to participate in it and also have fun.

This Term the two things I want to accelerate is my Maths and Writing. I want to accelerate maths and writing because I am below and well below in them.  

In term 2 for maths I got 3A and for this term i want to get a 4A.

In term 2 for writing I got 3A and for this term I want to get a 4A.

Lion and the Mouse

                   Lion and Mouse

Lion captured the mouse then set him free. The lion got trapped and Mouse rescued him. Lion was happy they became friends.

I rewrote this story in 20 words and that was challenging because writing a story in 20 words is really really hard.
