Brooke Neal

I was really excited when our teacher said that a New Zealand ambassador was coming to our school. Her name is Brooke Neal. Room 7 came into our class and then she walked in. Firstly she talked about the 3 olympic values and it was friendship, excellence and respect she talked about every single value and how it helps her team and also herself. I really enjoyed her coming and I hope she comes again.

At basketball I had a great time because I learned lots of passing skills, the passing skills I learned was chest pass, bounce pass and overhead pass. I also learned that I have to catch in a diamond where your thumb and fingers touch. Our coaches Yaran and Malik played in and out with us and we enjoyed it. Last but not least we learned what Beef stand for and it is, balance, eyes o the ball, elbows and follow through.

Personification paragraph: Beach

WALT: write an personification paragraph.

The sun peaked happily from behind a cloud. Trees were dancing back and forth in the wind. Waves were clashing onto the sand. The sea tossed the shells again and again. The sea pulled the rocks into the water.

Sea shells poem

WALT: write a personification poem

Sea shells:

The sound rattled like dry peas in a can.
The sea tossed the shells again and again.
The silence followed it, it was like holding your breath.
Then rolling and tumbling like children in bed.
Looking like sweets in a sweet shop jar.
The colour and shapes made the shore line look bizarre.

Like carnival day the shells twisted and turned as the sea played them like some crazy dance.
